We're less than eight months away from the 25th Anniversary of Summer Sailstice! Several boating clubs and organizations have already entered their public events and demonstrations for the weekend of June 21-23 on our World Map and there's plenty of room for yours.
So far, we have just a handful of individual plans this far out and we'd love to see where you'll be sailing.
Will it be on the west coast, such as our Founder, John Arndt, who is planning a weekend on San Francisco Bay on his 1989 Sabre 38 Mk II, Finistere? There's a good chance he'll participate in a Corinthian Yacht Club beer can race on Friday, but we'll have to wait and see where the wind blows him for the rest of the weekend. There's so many great destinations near the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to choose from.
Perhaps you're an east coast sailor like Ken Degroot. He's been participating in Summer Sailstice for over a decade and this year he'll be doing some "Skinny Water Sailing" (not to be confused with skinny dipping sailing) off Turkey Point on the upper Chesapeake Bay. Ken is a member of the Crystal Manor Beach Club and is currently sailing his fifth boat, Majorca II, a MacGregor 26X.
We're sending Ken some swag to thank him for entering his plans early! And if you sign up this week, you'll be entered to win something cool, too!
