Welcome aboard Ashley Flintoff from Detroit Yacht Club! This is Ashley's second Sailstice and first coordinating an event. She will be hosting an event through her yacht club’s race committee to get people out sailing. They will be matching up new and interested sailors with members to head out for an afternoon sail followed by a bbq!
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I started sailing with friends on their racing boats. My husband and I caught the sailing bug and purchased our first boat, a 1973 Pearson 26, s/v Aigle de Mer. After 5 years of learning everything from fiberglass repair to sailing in all kinds of weather, we upgraded to our current boat, a 1978 Pearson 30, s/v Sirius. We love sailing the Detroit River and the Great Lakes out of the historic Detroit Yacht Club.
