Vernon Yacht Club celebrates with sailing races and fun!

The Vernon Yacht Club, located on the north - east end of Okanagan Lake, British Columbia celebrated their first Summer Sailstice last June 23'rd and 24'th. On Saturday in addition to regular just messing around in boats, a number of VYC yachts took a group of eager neophyte sailors out for a several hour cruise as part of VYC's introduction to sailing course. As well, club member, Jamie Napier organized a Sunday fun- race to open up the season. The 8 nautical mile reverse handicap race from VYC to the Forestry Campground, Cameron Point and back to VYC was well attended, and, won by the organiser, Jamie Napier along with his crew Mike O'Fallon and Mary Napier.

To the best of the VYC recollection, here is a list of the yachts seen on the water during Summer Sailstice, apologies to those overlooked and thanks to all who participated!
