'Thank you for organizing this global celebration of sailing. The Scotch Bonnet LIght Race this year included 25 boats who raced across Lake Ontario and back, overnight. We were sent off with a party of family members and well-wishers who remained behind to enjoy a lovely summer evening on the Genesee Yacht Club porch overlooking the Genesee River.'
'Racers were treated to a spectacular star show under clear and cold skies, a magnificent sunrise Saturday morning, and unfortunately very light winds to none at all. Our skippers prevailed although it took some more than 24 hours to travel approximately 82 nautical miles. We celebrated on Sunday with a picnic and Awards Ceremony which was attended by more than 100. We look forward to more Sailstice adventures in the future.'
