Rip Stanwood wrote in from under the classic blue skies of a Colorado Summer Sailstice sail to tell us he was sailing at a higher elevation than any other Sailstice participants. A few years ago Pete Boyce wrote in telling us he sailed on 12,500' elevation Lake Titicaca for Summer Sailstice that's a rare possibility. However, Lake Dillon, at over 9000' elevations is certainly the highest celebration of 2008 and still, the lake boasts a large fleet of sailboats enjoying a sky high lake with 26 miles of shoreline. In addition to Summer Sailstice participants, the same weekend the Dillon Yacht Club was hosting the Buffalo Mountain Regatta making for another active summer weekend of Rocky Mountain sailing.
Everyone enjoys Summer Sailstice on Lake Dillon
