A beautiful day for Summer Sailstice in Brooklyn, NY

Over 30 Deep Creek Yacht Club members and guests participated at the Raft Up in Dead Horse Bay on the club's mooring to celebrate the Summer Solstice on June 20th. After a Saturday and Sunday of great sailing weather and local regattas, eight boats gathered in Dead Horse Bay, Brroklyn NY in the afternoon. They were part of a growing international celebration and at precisely 3:57 sounded horns, bells and whistles to mark the sun's approach to the Tropic of Cancer (at 8:57 local time).

Sharing "Sun" food and beverages the group was blessed with abundant sunshine and the promise of favorable boating weather for the rest of the season. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and compared the different "Sun" foods that were shared among the group. Although not wanting to hurry the season, everyone looked forward to next years celebration.
