Summer Sailstice is now only 4 weeks away, give or take a couple of days, and it's pretty exciting seeing all the celebrations that are being organized. How will you be sailing this June? If you haven't got your sail or event organized yet, or you're not sure what to do, take a look at some of the events aound the country. You might get some ideas for your own event, or you might just like to join one of these parties!
Modern Sailing in Sausalito, CA will be offering three Summer Sailstice Club Sails! This includes one specialty evening Club Sail from 5 -10 pm. Club Sails are open to Members of Modern Sailing, and up to two of their guests. And then there's the complimentary BBQ and beverages!
The Sooke Sailing Association and The Sooke Sailing Co-op are organizing a sail and dinner in Sooke BC Canada. "We will end up around 5:00 PM in Anderson Cove off the Sooke Basin and raft up for a potluck dinner. Everyone welcome." BYOB (boat) or contact us for a boat to ride.
Lake Arthur Sailing Club is holding a "Friendship Sail" and "Spaghetti Night" at Moraine State Park, Davis Hollow Marina, Butler County, PA.

On Saturday June 24, Corinthian Yacht Club, Tiburon, CA is hosting the 'Corinthian YC Summer Sailstice Celebration & Master Mariners 150th Year Celebration' for members and guests. And on Sunday 25th they're inviting everyone to join them for the Master Mariners 24th Annual Wooden Boat Show.
Rockland Yacht Club, Maine is celebrating with their annual Solstice Race in West Penobscot Bay. "Racers can look forward to friendly, spirited competition, and a chance to knock the rust from sailing skills and reflexes dulled by our long Maine winters. Throw in a post race BBQ and pot luck at the Rockland Club house, with trophies awarded to main and jib sailors as well as two divisions of boats using spinnakers and you have a recipe for loads of fun. This is the reward for those who get their boats in early, and come out to mix it up!"
New England Science & Sailing (NESS) Foundation will be holding their fifth annual NESS Fest on Saturday, June 24, from 11am-3pm. This event is FREE and open to the Public. Fun activities including sailing, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding. NESS Fest participants are welcome to enjoy ocean adventure activities and giveaways, tour the facilities, meet the staff, and learn more about NESS's summer programs. No prior experience in water sports is necessary and participants will be supervised by trained and experienced NESS staff members.
Club Nautique are hosting Sailboat rides, Cookouts, Seminars and more at both their Sausalito and Alameda facilities.
And if you like the beach, join the Nevada Yacht Club for a day on the water and some fun sails with the club. "Bring food and drinks for the beach and certainly recommend some shade."
