This is it, the announcement we've all been waiting for, the Summer Sailstice 2019 Video Challenge results.
Thank you to everyone who participated both in front of and behind the camera. You are the reason we celebrate sailing and look for ways to share the joys.

We've received some great entries which, as always, made it very dificult for the judges to choose the winners. Fortunately there some predetermined rules that helped make the task a little easier.
The judges were looking for videos that demonstrate the joys of sailing in every form including planning, provisioning, pre and after-sail at the dock, the beauty of being underway, or anything else you want to show us. Even the after party! And of course the videos had to be 1-minute long.
Keeping all this in mind, here's what they decided...
The Summer Sailstice 2019 Video Challenge, 1st Prize goes to Liberty Sailing Club, Philadelphia, PA .These sailors looked like they were having a great time as they raced across Philadelphia's Delaware River having a good old-fashioned water fight. Along with the shoot-out the video includes some great sailing footage and the practial sailing stuff such as, getting ready. Well done to everyone who was involved in creating this clip. You win!
Second place is won by Mike and Kat at PV Sailing - Marina Riviera Nayarit - At la Cruz. Each year these guys put together a great Summer Sailstice event despite the fact that many of the sailboats have been put away for the hurricane season. And in true 'sailor' style they don't let a little thing like a lack of sailboats stop them from getting on the water and catching some wind. Umbrellas, bedsheets and brooms are all comandeered to put some sail power into the paddle boards and canoes. The video may not show any actuall sailboats, but it does show ingenuity, creativity and above all the fun of sailing. Well done Mike and Kat and your cast of umbrella-sailors!
In third place is Jody Horner's video of Point Yacht Club's annual Summer Sailstice sail to sail to Redfish Point beach for a fun overnighter – the crew from Point Yacht Club, Josephine, AL celebrate Summer Sailstice every year! The judges love Jody's collection of Summer Sailstice burgees (not that this swayed them - much) and enjoyed seeing the beach. Oh, and well done on the multiple time-stamps, that was a bonus.
